CAITLIN SHILL (1996) is a movement practitioner and performance artist currently based in London. She is a first-year postgraduate research student at Kingston University London. Her research interests intersect dance, embodied ways of knowing, and feminist theory to understand women's self-actualization. With a 10-year academic and professional career as a lecturer, graduate student, and performer, Caitlin has taught undergraduates and graduate students at Brigham Young University and the University of Roehampton for a combined two years. Her teaching specialties include improvisation, composition, and Laban Movement Analysis. Caitlin earned her BFA in Dance from Brigham Young University with a 3.9/4.0 GPA and graduated with distinction in her MFA in Dance and Embodied Practice from the University of Roehampton. Recent collaborations include directing an MFA thesis for The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and Assistant Directing Brigham Young University's DancEnsemble. For the past six months she has also been acting as research assistant for Designing Embodied Education in Dance network.

 

 

Caitlin's had a diverse career producing, choreographing, performing, and more recently as a director and dramaturg on multiple theatre productions in London. As a former adjunct faculty of Dance at Brigham Young University and current Visiting Lecturer at University of Roehampton, she looks forward to pursuing a career in academia.

 

Her collaborations with professional companies include Limón Dance, Other Mysteries Theatre, Dance Engine, SALT, Wasatch Contemporary Dance Company, Onsite Mobile Dance Series,  Martha Graham 2, and more. Her choreography has been showcased in studios, high schools, and professional venues across Utah, China, and now London.
